HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Corporate Executive Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
Daily oversight and management of the Human Resource Office and staff to include payroll, benefits, compensation, labor, and employee relations
GENREAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment, selection and eligibility determination of applicants
- Preparation of employee new hire packets
- New hire orientation
- Facilitation of open enrollment benefit process annually
- Maintenance of employee files and the HR filing system
- Accurate record keeping including data base management
- Administer background checks including ICHAT and driving records
- Preparation of employee evaluations
- Evaluation and update of internal HR policies and procedures
- Preparation of various reports as needed for internal purposes and outside agencies
- Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or six to eight years of comparable training and experience required
- Six to eight years of office administrative experience preferably in the field of human resources
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent writing skills mandatory
- High level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with staff, clients and community organizations in both oral and written forms
- Communication and organizational skills that contribute to a quality, team oriented work environment
- Work history that includes demonstrated success in problem solving, teamwork and professionalism
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively within an active public agency environment
- Ability to apply analytical skills in identifying operational problems and offer potential solutions
- Ability to frequently handle pressures related to meeting deadlines and working on projects requiring concentration and attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience of proper telephone etiquette
- Physical ability to sit in one position for extended periods of time
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Professional HR Designation through HRandFriend.org, HRCI, or SHRM preferred or willingness to obtain after hire.
WORK CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office environment with little discomfort due to noise, dirt, dust and the like
- Local travel may occasionally be required
